Are You Sick of Feeling Anxious, Overwhelmed, or Burnt Out?

YOU DON’T HAVE TO KEEP CARRYING IT ALL ON YOUR OWN

If you find yourself second-guessing your decisions, over-giving in relationships, or stuck in cycles of constant worry and mental “what-ifs” - you’re in the right place.

I’m Shakeh Galstian, a licensed psychotherapist based in Los Angeles, offering online therapy to clients across California. I specialize in supporting young adults and college students break free from anxiety, improve self-esteem, and navigate life transitions with more clarity and self-trust.

I’m here to help you with:

  • Helping clients break free from constant worry, overanalyzing, and the mental “what-ifs” that keep them feeling stuck.

  • Supporting those who over-give in relationships, feel guilty when saying no, and struggle to prioritize their own needs.

  • Guiding clients to quiet their inner critic, rebuild self-trust, and develop a more compassionate relationship with themselves.

  • Working with young adults and professionals navigating big changes - college, career shifts, breakups - who want to feel more grounded and authentic.

My Approach

Therapy doesn’t have to feel intimidating. I bring a light-hearted, down-to-earth style that often includes humor, so that growth feels grounded and meaningful, without being overwhelming.

We’ll tailor our work to fit your needs, blending practical coping skills for immediate relief, with deeper insight to create lasting change.

I DRAW FROM EVIDENCE-BASED APPROACHES LIKE:
  • CBT helps you notice the connection between your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By identifying unhelpful patterns - like negative self-talk or cycles of worry - we can work together to reframe them and practice healthier ways of responding. Over time, CBT gives you practical tools to manage anxiety, stress, and self-doubt in your daily life.

  • ACT focuses on learning to accept difficult thoughts and feelings instead of fighting them. Together, we’ll explore what matters most to you, build coping skills, and create space for more flexibility in how you approach challenges. The goal is to help you live in alignment with your values while reducing the weight of anxiety and perfectionism.

  • SFBT is a short-term, goal-oriented approach that emphasizes solutions rather than problems. We’ll focus on your strengths and what’s already working in your life, then build strategies to help you move forward. Even small changes can create meaningful progress and a sense of momentum.

  • IFS helps you understand the different ‘parts’ of yourself that may be pulling you in different directions. In IFS therapy, we work to identify and communicate with these parts, in order to bring more harmony and balance into your life. This process can help heal emotional wounds, ease inner conflict, and support you in discovering greater self-compassion and peace.

Let’s Reveal What is Within You

WHATEVER YOU'RE FACING RIGHT NOW, I'VE GOT YOU

Many of my clients come to me feeling lost, second-guessing their decisions, or burnt out from the pressure to always be “on”. Whatever brings you here, therapy can help.

When worry and self-doubt take up all your energy, it’s easy to feel disconnected from the life you truly want. Therapy offers a space to slow down and process your experiences, so you can reconnect with yourself and your goals on a deeper level.

Through therapy, we’ll look at the thoughts, patterns, and beliefs that shape your world and gently challenge those that are keeping you stuck. Together, we’ll create space for new perspectives so you can start taking small, meaningful steps towards your favorite self.

FAQS

  • Online therapy offers the same level of care and connection as in-person sessions, with the convenience of meeting from wherever you are in California. I use a secure, HIPAA-compliant video conferencing platform to protect your privacy.

Before our first session, you’ll receive a link to join from your computer, tablet, or phone. Simply find a quiet, private space, click the link at your scheduled time, and we’ll meet face-to-face virtually. If you prefer, we can also do sessions over the phone.

  • Therapy sessions are $180 for a standard 50-minute session. If you have out-of-network benefits, I can provide a superbill for you to submit to your insurance for possible reimbursement.

  • Yes - through Headway, I am able to accept Aetna, Anthem PPO, United Healthcare, and Optum plans in California. If you have a different insurance provider, we can explore using your out-of-network benefits.

  • Your first session is really about getting to know you. We’ll talk about what brought you to therapy, what challenges you’ve been facing, and what you’d like to get out of our work together. There’s no pressure to share everything at once - I’ll guide the conversation at a pace that feels comfortable for you. You’ll also have the chance to ask me questions about the process so you feel informed and supported. By the end of the session, we’ll have a clearer sense of your goals and a plan for moving forward together.

  • Everyone’s journey is unique. Some clients see meaningful progress in as few as 6–12 sessions, while others choose to continue longer for deeper growth and lasting change.

Together, we’ll discuss your goals, check in regularly on your progress, and adjust the pace so therapy feels supportive and effective for you.

  • Compassion, authenticity, and curiosity guide my work. I strive to create a safe, welcoming space where you can show up as your full self. I honor your unique background, work collaboratively with you, and offer practical tools to support real and lasting change.

  • I use evidence based approaches such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Solution Focused Therapy. I also bring in mindfulness and parts work when helpful. My approach is flexible and collaborative, and I adjust our work together to fit your unique needs and goals.

  • I hold a Master’s in Counseling Psychology from Mount Saint Mary’s University, am a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist in California (LMFT #153652), and am currently pursuing a PsyD in Applied Clinical Psychology.
